Think!Think! is an educational app for children who are 4-10 years old. It contains over 100 mini games and puzzles that develop children’s critical thinking skills.
I was the team leader/project manager/level designer of many mini games, Medal Maneuver was one of them.
A coworker designed the rules that user moves all the medals to places with the same marks. They can’t move the medals through the wall, the evil blocks, nor those where other medals are on the spot with their mark.
I set the schedule for engineer and graphic designer so we can test within the company, and with groups of children for twice.
After testing with children, we found that the children comprehended the rules well on the own, but decided to make the medals movement more “magnetic” to provide a better user experience. This attention to detail demonstrates our dedication to better user experience.
I also decided the game levels (e.g. level 1’s map is 2 by 2 with only 1 medal; level 20’s map is 3 by 3 with 2 medals and 1 evil block) to create structure while challenging children’s thinking capacities.
