Code Crafters - Band & Studio

A block-based music making app content to understand the possibility of self-expression through programming.

WonderBox (page in Japanese) is a monthly subscription based education app platform for children of 4 to 10 years old.
Every month we release new content onto different channels in the platform.

Code Crafters is the channel on programming. Every 2 months, we release block-based programming activities on different topics.
Being inspired by Sonic Pi, I came up with the idea of music making, and released the content Band Challenge in October, 2020.

Users can put music blocks of 3 different instruments of different tempo, choose the sound pattern, edit the time for repeat and create music of their own. (The music pieces were made by a professional composer.)

In the November release, they were able to record their music piece and mix it with the instruments.

This content aims to present children the possibility of self-expression through programming.
